                          Melbourne Jewellery Designer Shonah Tomkins is the artist behind the label ‘Shonah Jewellery Design’. Over the
past 5 years her handmade pendants have gained notoriety for their modern antique vintage style. This ever evolving range of fashion necklaces and fashion jewellery is inspired by her love of geometrical patterns, warm earthy palettes, antiques & flora.

Shonah's signature Tasmanian oak handmade pendants, blend her original screen-prints, locally designed textiles, Baroque and William Morris reproduction fabrics. Shonah’s father cuts the wood for each pendant in her fashion jewelery range in a beautiful country setting. His careful craftsmanship has fast become a distinctive feature in each creation.

Each fashion necklace has a ‘one-off variation in pattern' combining resin, fabric, oak and distinctive vintage style chain.   The Resin and Fabric handmade pendants have been described as aesthetically beautiful, unique, timeless and eclectic.   Her use of nostalgic imagery such as florals, antique keys, birds and gates have become a strong thread across all ranges.

While Shonah Jewellery Design is renowned for fashion necklaces, her label also has a wide range of fashion accessories that are unique in pattern, combining resin, fabric and oak. Her fashion earrings are cut into simplistic shapes which magnify her beautiful ‘Arts and Craft Movement fabrics ‘and her brooches are recognised for their quirky bird shape and style. The most recent fashion necklaces and handmade pendants from the ‘modern antique collection’ blend mixed metals and 1600’s to 1800’s motifs with her distinctive signature of using   Tasmanian Oak, Fabric and Resin.

Over the past 5 years, Shonah has carefully designed a range of fashion necklaces for women by using nostalgic and antique inspired imagery. Her most recent works to date from her ‘Modern Antique Script’ collection mark a strong career point. Each of these fashion necklaces are engraved with a positive quote to evoke feelings of joy and contentment.
